SUMMARY:

Overall another fun game to play. The Yankees won in real life as well with a score of 8 to 1. 6 to 2 vs. 8 to 1 is close enough for me. In real life the Yankees pitcher Herb Pennock threw a complete game and gave up 3 hits, no walks, 1 strikeout and had an ERA of 1.00. In Strat Pennock gave up 10 hits, 2 walks, 0 strikeouts and had an ERA of 2.00. Strikeouts and walks were very close as was the ERA. Only the hits were off.

For Pittsburgh Lee Meadows pitched 6.1 innings and Mike Cvengros pitched 1.2 innings. In my Strat game, Meadows threw 8 innings. In real life, Pittsburgh gave up 9 hits, 1 walk, 8 strikeouts with an ERA of 9.00. In Strat, Pittsburgh gave up 12 hits, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts with an ERA of 6.75. An ERA is a bit low and the strikeouts were off by 5 but hits were only off by 3 and walks were right on.

This game so far was the most of compared to real life. The Yankees didn't crush Pittsburgh by 7 runs like in real life but 5 isn't too bad. In the end, the outcome was the same, a game 3 win for the Yankees. And besides, it's more about having fun than matching statistics exactly. Stay tuned next week for Game 4, can the Yankees clinch it in 4 like they did in real life??
